Andover-based coach and bus operator Pikes Coaches has taken delivery of a new Volvo B11R JHV2.
Rob Pike, Director of family owned and operated Pikes Coaches, said: “When looking for a new addition to our fleet, the reliability and efficiency of our existing Volvo vehicles was the key determining factor in specifying them once again.
“The Volvo chassis in combination with Jonckheere bodywork was an obvious choice for us. It’s finished to a high quality and represents excellent value for money.”
The new coach has a 53-passenger seating capacity and will be deployed on a wide range of work for Pikes Coaches, including general private hire and contracts, as well as duplication services for National Express.
Rob Pike added: “We also value the excellent aftersales support we receive from MC Truck & Bus in Southampton, who we have been working with for many years, for all our external service requirements. One of the benefits is that they only provide genuine Volvo spare parts as and when they are required for installation on our vehicles.
“This order is a significant development for our business and it was great to work with our Volvo Bus Retail Bus & Coach Sales Manager, Sam Prothero, who was really easy to deal with, guiding us through the entire process from initial specification through to final delivery.”
Sam Prothero said: “Pikes Coaches has been a good customer of ours for several years now, having taken a number of used vehicles and more recently their first new B11R. Their positive experience with our vehicles has ensured they have once again specified a Volvo, and we’re sure they will be pleased with their new coach and in particular the fuel economy savings it will deliver for their business.”
