Kanthal® ‘rolls out’ its expanded range of furnace rollers at two major exhibitions, this month

Kanthal®, part of Sandvik Group specializing in heating technology products and solutions, has expanded its portfolio of furnace rollers to include nickel chromium (NiCr) rollers that are used in low temperature furnace zones. Customers can now achieve cost savings by using Kanthal as a ‘one stop shop’.

The addition of centrifugally cast NiCr rollers complements Kanthal’s existing range of Kanthal APMTTM rollers for use in critical hot zones. Kanthal APMTTM furnace rollers are

produced through a powder metallurgy process that gives the material high mechanical strength, designed for ideal use at elevated temperatures of up to 1250 °C (2280 °F).

“We have now expanded our range to include NiCr rollers for lower temperature applications. These are affordable and very cost-effective to run and maintain,” said Xavier Palet Lozano, Global Product Manager at Kanthal.

Through the newly expanded portfolio, customers can achieve additional cost savings by using Kanthal as a single supplier. Xavier Palet Lozano added: “As a result, we can now offer our customers a complete range to meet all their furnace roller demands.”

In addition, Kanthal will showcase its complete range of furnace rollers at two major exhibitions in the United States and Germany. Both events are scheduled for this month.

The first is the ASM International Heat Treat 2017 Conference and Expo. It takes place at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, United States, between 24–26 October. Kanthal will exhibit on Stand 2425, and also present a paper on sophisticated alloys and the latest heating technologies.

The second exhibition is the HK 2017 Heat Treatment Congress, to be held at the Koelnmesse GmbH exhibition center in Cologne, Germany, between 25–27 October. Visitors can locate Kanthal at Stand E-039.

Kanthal’s NiCr rollers have been developed in close cooperation with manufacturing partners, and they are available in outer diameters ranging from 26 mm to 1800 mm (1 to 70 in). The combination of high mechanical strength, form stability and high resistance to oxidation and corrosion can guarantee a long service life.
